FREQUENTLY-ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT GRATING

Frankly, there are not a lot of questions which people need to ask about gratings so this is more of a convenient place to put information which doesn’t fit in anywhere else!

HOW DOES THE GRATING COME?

The grating is normally shipped in cartons in made-up lengths of about a metre. Sometimes, as in the case of the PP grating which can be made up into large panels, the products are palletised.

HOW DO YOU REDUCE THE WIDTH AND THICKNESS OF THE GRATING?

The grating is cut in the factory from a grating one size larger.  For reducing the width, the ends of the struts are cut straight across -- extremely accurately.

For reducing the thickness or depth, a rebate is cut out from the bottom corners at the ends of the grating struts (see illustration).

DO YOU FIT THE GRATING YOURSELVES?

No, we supply to people who can do this much better than we can. Tilers and contractors are better-placed to instal the seating for the grating, for example.  After that, it is pretty much a matter of dropping the grating into place.

HOW MUCH DOES DELIVERY COST?

We include delivery charges in the price quoted  -- unless this is specifically excluded, say, when giving budget prices for export, for example. Delivery can be made to your premises or to site, as you require.
